]]>Our first ever MovieCon sponsored by ProCosplay and SaberZone took place on Saturday 11 July and exceeded all expectations, despite the pesky pandemic. Originally scheduled to take place as a live in-person event, MovieCon 2020 was moved online in response to Covid 19, with a prize masquerade competition for cosplayers around the world.
With prizes including hand crafted combat lightsabers from SaberZone and 50% off vouchers from ProCosplay, we were astonished by the quality of submissions which came in from every corner of the globe, from New Zealand to New Jersey, from Australia to Austria.
With a judging panel that included Star Trek legend Marina Sirtis, as well as Nice N Nerdy Cosplay, Funkster Cosplay, Heroes of Geek Cosplay and our own Artistic Director Chris Hastings, awards were given out in six categories and the judges all agreed that the quality of submissions was astonishingly high.
Morgan Freasier (Overall winner) and Leida Margeretha (Special Mention).
Lauren Wilkinson (Overall winner) and Katie Voice (Special Mention).
Jason Coster (Overall winner) and Tak Smyth (Special Mention).
Anna Elizabeth Gant (Overall winner) and Caroline, Jason, Lachlan and Claudia Smith (Special Mention). There were also Special Mentions from Marina Sirtis for Sally Seagraves and Damien Valentine for their awesome Star Trek cosplays.
Nina Dadas Curguz (Overall winner) and Ethan McKnight (Special Mention).
Jaiden Cluck (Overall winner) and Cohen Guyan (Special Mention).
The winner of our prize raffle asked for us to not announce their name.
We want to thank absolutely everyone who took the time to enter, to SaberZone and ProCosplay for providing amazing prizes and can’t wait to return in 2021 when we’ll hopefully be able to hold our first live MovieCon!
See you then!

]]>If you want something a little off-the-wall to pass the time during C19 lockdown, why not try our devilish movie quote quiz at https://youtu.be/8saLzDv0h18
We’ll be completely honest, this is a home school project that got a little out of hand! All credit for the work done on this (apart from choosing the quotes) goes to 10 year old Seraphina who we think you’ll agree deserves an A+!
This was never intended for public consumption (so no apologies for sound quality etc) but during these trying times we thought it might relieve some boredom and maybe inspire you to make some quizzes of your own!
We have decided to give away two pairs of full festival passes as a prize (or you can just do it for fun!) so you can either send us your answers (just send us an email to [email protected] with the subject MOVIE QUIZ with your answers listed 1 to 20 by 30 June 2020) or wait until we release the answers in the first week of July when we’ll also draw at random two names who have answered the most quotes correctly. No one affiliated with the festival may enter.
We should point out many of the quotes are from 18 certificate films so this isn’t for children (although there’s no foul language as this was made by a 10-year-old, but they won’t know the films!)
If you’re finding it tricky, the doodles each give a clue to the film.
So, go ahead and guess the movie title.
And while you’re at it, why not join our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/satisfiedeye/ to be kept up to date with any more quizzes, competitions, giveaways and events at Satisfied Eye.
And although we’re not affiliated with Little Live Pets and they haven’t endorsed this video in any way, we’d like to thank them for hours of fun during this lockdown (and keeping Seraphina smiling!)

]]>While we’re all stuck inside and trying to decide which of our family members to eat during the apocalypse, the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival is excited to launch our first ever Local Photographer of the Year competition for 2020.
The competition is open to anyone living within the borough of Epsom and Ewell, and is open to all ages.
So it’s time to send us your best photos of quarantine life.
Yes, that’s right, what better way to celebrate all that extra time we get to spend with our loved ones than to take that one perfect picture that encapsulates this year’s theme:
My life in isolation
You can interpret that theme any way you like. It can be crazy, serious, funny, artistic, the choice is yours. It could be of a person, an animal, an object, even the view out of a window.
But all photos MUST be taken in your home or in your own garden/property while adhering to the isolation rules.
All photos will be judged on three criteria – originality, creativity and quality with cash prizes for the winning entries. You don’t have to own an expensive camera and whether you take your photos on a phone, iPad or Canon, we want to see your bursts of inspiration and/or fun.
Closing deadline for entries is the 1st of May 2020.
