With the final deadline for this year’s submissions closed, it’s been an incredibly rewarding and exciting few weeks at SEIFF headquarters.
We’ve received over twice the number of submissions compared to our inaugural event and are busily going through our judges’ scores to determine the official selections.
This year is guaranteed to be even bigger and better than last year, with events taking place at the renowned Rose Theatre, Odeon IMAX and Hilton DoubleTree.
Having taken on board some of the feedback we received in 2018, we’ll be announcing our programme earlier this year to ensure filmmakers have more time to plan their schedules.
The first of these will be this Friday when we’ll be able to announce the shortlist for our People’s Choice Nominees, which will open our festival on 18 October. These are the films rated the highest by our panel of local filmgoers across all types (fiction, documentary, animation etc) and genres, one of which will receive the People’s Choice Award at our closing awards ceremony.
